Choose your password
Start cloud backup inside Aura. Use a strong, unique backup password and keep a secure record of it.

Save to your cloud
Aura encrypts the backup before uploading it to iCloud or Google Drive on supported devices. Complete the cloud permission prompt and wait for confirmation.

Restore in the app
Choose Restore from Cloud Backup in Aura. Access the cloud account that holds your file and enter the backup password to restore it.
Two passwords. Different jobs.
Your wallet passcode protects access on your device. Your backup password protects the cloud backup file. Keep track of both.
Aura cannot reset your backup password. Keep a secure copy of your recovery phrase as another way to restore if you lose cloud access.

Is cloud backup required?
No. You can keep a secure offline copy of your recovery phrase instead. Cloud backup is an additional recovery option.
Does Aura know my backup password?
Your backup is encrypted on your device. Aura cannot reset the password or open the file for you.
What if I lose access to my cloud account?
A secure copy of your recovery phrase gives you another way to restore. Protect your cloud account with two step verification and keep its recovery information current.
Does a backup store my coins?
Your assets remain on their networks. The backup stores encrypted wallet recovery information that restores access to them.
